My dog has a cut on her foot and ive always heard it's best to let the dog tend to it. Is that true?

Definitely not! I actually just asked about this in a different forum topic. Our dog cut her foot on glass and for 2 days we let her lick the wound. On the 3rd day we called the vet and were told to get the dog away from her wound ASAP. The more we kept the wound dry ( first saline wash, dry, bandage and sock), the quicker it healed

It's not too bad I keep checking on it. She must have cut it on something outside. I've looked but yet to find what it js
