Choosing the correct dog breed
Hey guys! My fiance and I have just moved into our new house and are finally ready to get a new dog to join our family. We'd like to find a breed that is active and enjoys being outdoors, would be good with children, and would also be good protection for our family. Any ideas? I'd also prefer a middle to large dog!

Congratulations on the new home! My vote would be for a labrador or golden retriever. I'm also a big fan of rottweilers. We had a rottweiler that lived to be 15 years old! We did sign her up for good puppy school and continued to work on her training. She was the sweetest, most gentle dog and was very patient with my children. She was also a fierce protector but never once showed signs of aggression inappropriately.

Hello! Congrats on moving into your new house! German Shepherds are great with children, active, loves the outdoors and are protective of their families. With proper training this breed could be the perfect dog for you and your family. They're also extremely smart and do well with training. Just remember that consistency is key!
