Mixed breed dogs

Just for fun, what are mix breed dogs called in your country? I remember when we got my childhood dog, my mom and I were on our way to fetch our new puppy and my dad called and said "Whatever you do, don't bring home a brak." I asked my mom what a 'brak' was and she replied, " Exactly what we are on our way to get!". We call mixed breeds braks or a funny one: 'pavement special'.

The condiment Heinz 57 is a blend of ingredients like a mixed breed is a blend of breeds. I have no idea when or where it originated but i suspect it was started in the South USA.

Oh my gosh! I've never heard either of those terms! They have different terms depending on what part of my country you are from. I'm from the southeast of my country and they are called mixed-breeds, mongrels, mutts, and Heinz 57. I don't know if that's how the rest of my country refers to them but that's what I have heard mostly.

That's interesting! Here in the Philippines, mixed breed dogs are commonly referred to as "aspin" which stands for "asong Pinoy" or "native dog." It's always fun to learn about different terms and names used in different cultures for our furry friends!
