How did you know you were ready for another dog?
Hey! We are looking into getting another dog and wanted to get some opinions, how did you know you were ready to get another dog?? We want to approach this right because we don’t want to feel overwhelmed, we already have two and feel like adding a third dog would be amazing.

I think it's down to the right timing for yourself and your other dogs, and fate sometimes. I wasn't really looking for a 2nd dog .... I had Floyd, my whippet, plus I was a dog sitter so I always had other dogs here and luckily Floyd loves the company, but then my friend tagged me on a post on Facebook about a Saluki that needed rescuing and the next thing I know, I was on my way to rescue her! 1-year-old, extremely naughty, but oh, so gorgeous Annie. My heart ruled my head!

It's that kind heart that puts most of us in the position we are in with more pets that we intended! But could you imagine life without them?

From my personal experience, going from 2 to 3 dogs was actually surprisingly challenging. We temporarily fostered my brother's dog for around 6 months. Probably the hardest part for me was walking 3 dogs. If yours are well behaved on the lead you may not have an issue. mine can be reactive and they would set off the 3rd which was just a nightmare!!
