Do you take your dogs with you when you go away on holiday? Or do you get a pet sitter/ take them to kennels?

I generally never go anywhere during holidays but when I take vacations, I usually take her to the dog sitter, which she absolutely adores. I would love to take her with me on vacation but I'm worried about taking her on a plane due to her anxiety. Even if I vacation more locally (driving distance), she would have anxiety in a strange place without me there and she may not be allowed in the places I go. Even my uncle has a no dogs rule for his house so I would have to leave her in a hotel. Not an option. I would never take her to a kennel or a boarder. I don't know what they are like in your area but they are not good places to take your pet where I live.
