Fever

Should a fever in a dog immediately indicate a vet visit?

Thanks for the advice the vet advised to come in if it continues but only lasted a few hours

A fever in a dog can be a sign of an underlying health issue, so it's generally a good idea to consult with a veterinarian if your dog has a fever. However, the severity of the fever and other accompanying symptoms should also be taken into consideration. If your dog has a mild fever and is otherwise behaving normally, you can monitor their condition closely and provide supportive care such as keeping them hydrated and comfortable. However, if the fever is high, persistent, or accompanied by other concerning symptoms like lethargy, loss of appetite, or difficulty breathing, it's best to seek veterinary attention promptly. Well, I hope your dog is alright!

We've had many dogs over the years and I don't recall a fever being very common, besides our one dog that got tick bite fever. I'd definitely get your dog to the vet sometime soon if it continues
