Crowds

So I've seen people who take their dogs to festivals and parades but the dogs always look uncomfortable. What is your opinion on this

Joseph Solano

In my opinion, it's important to prioritize the well-being and comfort of our dogs when considering taking them to festivals and parades. While some dogs may enjoy the socialization and stimulation, it's crucial to assess their individual temperament, tolerance for crowds, and noise levels. It's essential to provide them with a safe and quiet space to retreat to if they show signs of stress or discomfort during such events.

I don't think crowds are the right place for a dog. I know my dogs would feel overwhelmed and anxious in such an environment. Even if we've had a larger get together at our house, we've made sure to keep our dogs in a safe and calm environment.

I think it is too much of a liability to take most dogs into large crowds. I agree that most dogs seem to be overstimulated and anxious in that environment. Dogs can sometimes be intolerant when they are anxious. I have avoided the situation with every dog I've had not just for their comfort but for the safety of them and everyone else.
