Crate Training Puppy Pom

Hi all, I am welcoming my baby Kai on Friday. I have a crate and am planning not to use potty pads to train him. Can I put a blanket in the crate to make it comfortable for him? Thanks

Katy Lauren

how did you get on?

I hear many people are successful in using blankets, mats, and beds in their crate, even while house training. I haven't been as successful with it as my pup would initially pee on the bed when she was very young. After she was fully house trained and stopped having little accidents, she then would just destroy whatever cloth item I put in there and start to eat it. She wouldn't inappropriately chew on anything else, just her bed. We are giving it another go and hopefully I can get her to not chew it up!

A blanket in the crate is perfect. With my puppy, I plan on putting an alarm on every hour to take him outside to pee. And of course after every nap or meal :) Apparently no pee pads are necessary!
