Airplane Travel
I'm planning a trip / vacation to an area that is too far to drive to so I would be flying. I am able to and would like to bring my Husky but I'm nervous about her being on the plane. She's too big to be in the passenger area of the plane so she would have to go into the cargo hold. She is already so high anxiety and I know that she would be terrified during the flight, not just because she is separated from me but because of everything else that goes along with flying. I'm thinking the only way to help would be to medicate her but I don't' know how I feel about that. What do you think? Would it be better to let her play at the dog sitter's house while I'm away? Be anxious on a flight in the cargo hold? Or medicate her so she can rest during the flight?

I have spoken to the vet. The vet finds medicating an option. I also have a great dog sitter available that she has gone to for years. I would never jeopardize her safety and I always try to keep her comfortable so taking her with no medication really isn't an option in my mind. I'm torn between leaving her behind or taking her on a trip where she will love the destination but she'll have to endure a high stress situation (even with medication). So I'm looking for opinions from others as to how they have handled it or would handle a similar situation.
