Dog sleeping on your bed?
What's your view on this?
We were told under no circumstances to let our dogs on our bed by our family members.... naturally I ignored all advice and let them sleep with us from day 1. I understand that it's not for everyone, but personally we love our night time cuddles and the dogs do too. Just a shame I sleep on the edge most nights!! Anyone else let their dogs sleep in their bed?

I absolutely let our dog in the bed and we used to let her sleep with us all night but as she got bigger she had to get down when it was time for me to actually get to sleep because she wanted to lay in the bed sideways and it was not possible for me to get any sleep

I've never allowed any of my dogs to sleep on the bed. Sometimes there were reasons such as they would get into things, chew on items they shouldn't, possibly go potty in the bed, they will get the bed dirty, etc, but the biggest reason is that most of the time dogs sleeping in the bed greatly decreases the quality and length of sleep. Having a child or sometimes even a person's spouse or partner doesn't allow for quality sleep. I am affectionate with my pup every evening before I go to bed, it just doesn't happen in the bed.

Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine! She knew that it was a huge treat if we let her on the bed. We are thinking about getting a new pup and we keep reinforcing that it won't be allowed on the bed... but somehow I'm not too sure how long that will last!
